As well as completing the RKC course Mike has also trained one on one with expert kettlebell strength and conditioning coach Steve Cotter As an ex- powerlifter Mike's particular focus is on combining kettlebells with strength training along with training for Rugby / League teams.
Jenni Capper Jenni Capper also trains with kettlebells and provides a female perspective on how to combine brief kettlebell workouts to fit in with managing a household, looking after three kids and doing the majority of Kettlebells NZ's administration work. Our AimKettleBells NZ's aim is to provide the best kettlebells and the best kettlebell training information to enable New Zealanders to reach and exceed their sporting, fitness and health goals with Russian kettlebells. How we startedKettleBells NZ was formed simply to fill a void. I had become aware of kettlebells and was convinced they would benefit my training but couldn't locate one in New Zealand. Therefore after a bit of research and trial and error kettlebells NZ started selling their first kettlebells toward the end of 2005. The more I read about kettlebells the more I was convinced they would be a great training tool for sports like Rugby, Rugby League, Cricket and a host of other sports, along with strength and endurance athletes looking for that competitive edge. It also became apparent that kettlebells were great for people with limited time to get in shape who simply wanted to tone up, lose some fat and get fit without spending hours at a gym or pounding the pavements. In fact one of the main advantages with kettlebells is that you can train at home whenever you want and use them for either strength building or for a power cardio workout. I realised that if I could see all the benefits of kettlebell training and wanted one, other New Zealanders would as well. |

Mike Capper is one of only a few qualified RKC Kettlebell Instructors in New Zealand and Australia. He obtained his RKC certification from Pavel Tsatsouline when he attended the rigorous 3 day RKC Instructor course in Minnesota USA. The course's focus is on developing kettlebell instructors but is also includes a One Arm Snatch test that participants must pass to qualify. The failure rate for the course is between 20% - 30% each year.
